FAQs - Visa Requirement

If you are an Indian citizen:

  • You will need a visa and a valid passport or other acceptable travel document to enter in most of the world countries.
  • Must check the visa information about your destination country before planning the trip.

If you are granted a visa, you must obey all laws and all of the conditions attached to the visa while you are in destination country. In particular, you must leave the country before your visa expires. Penalties for not obeying laws and visa conditions can include the cancellation of the visa.

As an Indian citizen:

If you intend to just transit (Change or connect flight) through the USA, Australia, Canada; even in some case United Kingdom, Schengen zone and many other countries en route to a destination country, you need to apply for a transit visa and present the evidence of an onward travel (air ticket) and a valid entry authorization (visa) for your final destination country.

It is advisable to check with your airline regarding the requirement of transit visa for your journey.

A visa is a document/permission which allows you to travel into a particular country and stay there for a set period of time. Generally, a visa is issued at the Embassy or Consulate of the country of destination or, in some cases, at the border. Visas may be stamped or stickered into the passport or they may be issued electronically (example Singapore, UAE & Australia). Some countries require everyone who enters to obtain a visa, while others have what are known as reciprocal agreements with certain countries that waive visa requirements for their citizens. A visa may allow single, double or multiple entries before the expiration date of the visa. It is important to research visa requirements before traveling internationally to avoid any legal hassle with border/immigration control officials and airlines. If a destination country requires a visa and the traveler does not have it in his/her passport, the airline may not allow the person to board on the plane.

Yes, in most cases, visas can be processed with regard to consular jurisdiction only. Most countries require all visa applications to be submitted in the assigned consular jurisdiction. Consular jurisdiction is the geographic area for which a consulate has responsibility for issuing visas. When a consulate is jurisdictional, it can only process visas for those who reside in a state within their jurisdiction. We process your visa applications to appropriate Embassy/Consulate for faster and proper processing. Please be advised that required documents and processing times may vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.

We will make every effort to ensure that you get your visa in time for your trip. Processing times listed on our website are provided by the Embassies/Consulates under normal circumstances. But, we cannot always guarantee, however, that your passport or visa will be returned to you by a certain date, because it is ultimately at the discretion of the Embassy as and when your visa is issued or passport is released. Sometimes Embassy or Consulate receives very large number of visa applications and this translates into longer processing period. Also, visa officer, at his/her sole discretion, may ask for additional documents. In such cases processing time will also be extended. Server, Satellite and Hardware failure is also among the causes that can cause a delay. These reasons are impossible to predict and may result in the increase of processing times. Believe us; we do our best possible efforts to get your application processed on time and without delay.
